2nd
of May this year was the first instance of the univeral celebrations
of all people who have been proclaimed dead officially and on paper.
In this year 2019 and in all parallel calendar years, the main people
celebrated were the home animals.
„It
is very important to us, this holy day” – said kitty Johnny Petra
about the Day of the Dead. „We always knew how our lives were
abused by nazists to torture our families emotionally. Many of my
animal friends live in the forests or in mountain caves because they
were taken away from their homes and banned from coming back, but
they have wonderful lives in their new places, full of comfort and
sweetness. While their families cry over their loss, or, should they
disbelieve their death certificates, are in panic about their life
conditions. We know how adults suffer, and we too have been, some of
us, lied about death, lied to that our close loved ones are gone for
good, that they don't exist anymore. Everybody has lost someone who
was officially announced dead, and we join with them in sorrow, and
we are happy that the Day of the Dead is here to make a statement of
truth about death”.
The
holiday of the dead is not a festival of ghosts, therefore it does
not repeat the celebrations of Haloween. It is instead a day of
mourning for the people lost through lies, lost through staged
deaths, lost through forged documents. It is a day to honor all those
who had to start a new life away from all their families, friends,
possessions, without possibility of contact and with new identities.
The Day of the Dead will occur every year to commemorate the tragedy
of death proclamations and to oppose through culture and religion to
nazism and its deeds.
This
new holiday is a part of the festival of Mardi Gras, which takes
place on the breakthrough of April and May. Already a new culture has
emerged from this new special occassion. Suits and gowns are advised
as the basic wear for the evening festivities, and mourning clothes,
colours and ornaments are the basic symbolics of the day. The
celebrations are in fact in funeral mode, to reflect the message of
the Day of the Dead.
Photographs
of all people who have been so far proclaimed dead have been
assembled in one place. The place is the Plaza di Angelos in the
centre of Buenos Aires in Argentina. The yard begot a new special
spot, a shrine filled with white and red flowers, onto which dozens
of photographs have been pinned. Everybody can find all his officially
dead close ones among the pictures. The plaza is currently very hard
to access for most people, but works are being done to change this
state of things. The citizens of Argentina since the beginning of May
are co-operating together to re-establish the Argentinian culture
back in their country, and the Shrine of the Dead symbolises the
return of old traditions to Buenos Aires.
Informations
about this new holiday have leaked to the past already, and spies and
thieves from former decades will still be gathering new materials
from the future Days of the Dead. Therefore the day is already known
as a unique cultural phenomenon, and it is one of two most mysterious
events, alongside a game festival Com Icon, shown to people of the
past without sufficient explanations. Criminals in the previous years
fabricated existence of Day of the Dead, similarly to the event of
Com Icon, and spreaded rumours about its culture, promoting it as a
high-class festival to which nobody had an entry. In fact, the first
Day of the Dead, from May of this year '19, has occurred without any
shows, and was purely a spiritual occassion. As most people are
separated from all others, there were no meetings organised, but the
establishers of this holiday, who include Dominic Monaghan and
William Wallace, have sacrificed many efforts to construct an
appropriate cultural field for this day. Masks of the Dead have been
painted by Francis Arnaud and Johnny Depp, among other artists, and
the informations about the celebrations have been passed on to all
media, for social recognition of this holiday, which in the future
years will be an active event during the Mardi Gras festival.
