What
is nowadays most important to people, is the good life for their
children, as it turned out. Most people of the world are especially
concerned about the future of their babies, and that was recognised
by the musician Tori Amos as a perfect theme of her latest album.
„Swans” is the new musical publication of this famous artist, who
in recent years has been utterly deprived of all income for her music
work and all other creations, but who at the same time never has been as prolific as nowadays.
Tori
Amos sings about the emotions connected with children, and about the
clash between the social organization with the reality of upbringing.
The album which came out from her hands is in fact a strictly
political artwork.
Tori
Amos did her best to recreate in sound what the soul of childhood is
about, and that earned her both the Nobel Prize in Music and the
Grammy award for the best album of the year. The Grammy award is a
third one in Tori Amos's possession, and they are always particularly
significant since Grammies are given only once a year in each
category. But nothing was as important as the Order of Smile given to
her from all the children of the world.
„What
Tori made was a cloud for us all, a cloud number nine, and of all
other numbers, and she created a space for us all, all the children,
to find their solace and to find their paradise” – said Amelia
Eckheart, a nine-year old daughter of Claudia Cardinale, the King of
Arabia. The album of Tori Amos has been named the most important
musical work of art in all history of time, and it is a number one
album of all music ever. Tori Amos herself did not expect such a
reaction.
„What
I wanted to make, was modesty. Modesty was a theme of this album,
because modesty is needed to have a paradise for a life. And all
children have a paradise made for them by God, and as long as modesty
is their life, then they are not only safe, but happy. It is magic.
Magic of misticism. I wanted to show that magic. This kind of magical
attitude is often scorned nowadays, insulted as submissiveness and
stupidity, but it is in fact a noble magic of pride, and I wanted to
show it, to show to people its culture” – said Tori Amos about
„Swans”. „The title was born out of symbolics, because I
discovered that children are symbolically first and foremost swans,
and that they are wonderful doctors of culture and life, and I wanted
to show their spiritual side, and I am happy that I managed to do
it”.
The
album of Tori Amos has already inspired several artworks from other
creators. After its premiere of 16th
of May, the album gained loud acclamations from all corners of the
world, and became the main cultural event of the year so far.
Obviously therefore it had influence over the art of other people. A
series of paintings titled „Children” was constructed by Pablo
Picasso in the course of three days after he heard the album „Swans”
on the date of its premiere. A book called „Heart” was written by
Dominic Monaghan which combines literature with astonishingly
detailed drawings. The book was written during one week since 16th
of May and is the original version of the plagiarism known as „The
Brothers Lionheart” from Astrid Lindgren. The book tells a story of
Dominic and all his siblings, and is 20 pages long. Tori Amos after
reading the book said: „This is the most beautiful inspiration, to
be an inspiration”. Surely her album will make even more impact on
art and culture during its future years.
